Cozy and homey cafe that surpasses the highest expectations. The food was better than any I have had throughout major cities and small towns across Germany. This is the place to go for an authentic German dining experience. The waitstaff was warm, helpful, and provided excellent recommendations.

Absolutely charming restaurant that feels like someone's Nana opened it up, very homey and it smelled amazing as soon as I walked in. Sweet server who knew the names of the Lil old dudes who make this a second home. Amazing breaded pork schnitzel with onion cream gravy, perfect warm German potato salad, and a cucumber salad so good I wanted to spoon up the leftover dressing. The pork was tender and juicy, with a perfect crisp coating. I ate the entire plate and am looking forward to my next visit while I'm in town.

I loved this place! Great food, everything that I tried was on point. I tried Hungarian Goulash Soup soooo DELICIOUS!! The Rum Chocolate Cake moisturized , and the Chicken Cordon Bleu very tasty!! I highly recommend this place! Im definitely comimg back!!

Delicious food! I ordered the zigeunerschnitzel, with the warm potato salad, cucumber salad, and a side of spätzle with the red pepper and onion gravy. Customer service was great as well!

My chicken schnitzel was actually two very tender, juicy pieces. I also enjoyed the rotkohl that I chose as a side. My other side was potato pancakes which were okay but bit gluey. I opted for applesauce with them rather than sour cream. The schnitzel came with a garlicky sour cream green onion topping which could have been a much smaller portion as it was very rich. My husband had pork schnitzel which he thought was a bit tough, along with cucumber salad and kartoffelsalad (potato salad) which were both delicious. Service was slow, not the fault of the waitress, as there were only two other tables occupied and both had finished their meals. The room is furnished with "seen better days" tables and chairs. Would definitely return and try some of the other menu items.

It's what a local German restaurant should be: home-like atmosphere, pleasant people who are usually German immigrants or defendants of them, and not a chain with Americanized food. My grandmother was the daughter of German immigrants, and though I never knew her to make schnitzel (she worked at the business they owned, so no time) , she made all the rest: cucumber salad, potato salad, etc. The food served here tastes the same! Such memories! They do have some non-traditional food, as in old style food. Just modern food like no-bake cheesecake. But that does not mean it's American food, just more modern. There are some foods they don't serve on objections to the source of base ingredients. I agree. And they are very pleasant. Be prepared to wait, good German food is not fast or it wouldn't be good German food! People expect everything to be fast, fast, fast. But a small family-owned restaurant doesn't have very many cooks to get that food out fast. Which means it is consistent - the same cooks prepare it every time.

The server and service was excellent. My food arrived shortly after I ordered and steaming hot. I was contemplating between two dishes and the server recommended she liked one of my choices because it had a little spice but not overly spicy. I'm glad she was correct. I had the schnitzel topped with spicy bell peppers and onion gravy. The schnitzel was fresh! Crisp and hot! The little spice was perfect for just the right "kick." One of my sides was the cucumber salad which seemed a bit runny/watery, but seasoned perfectly with a lot of dill. It was cool and refreshing. The other side dish was the spatzle. It wasn't hot, so it was probably made earlier in the day and simply spooned on to my dinner plate. I wish it was warmed up at least, but I mixed them with the excess gravy which was steaming when my plate arrived. I would definitely recommend this great little gem of a restaurant for German food.
